Direct Access to Industry Leaders
Our renowned Digital Arts and Animation Guest Lecture Series brings the industry’s best directly to you. Each semester, you’ll learn from award-winning directors, VFX supervisors, and art directors from studios like Pixar, ILM, and Naughty Dog. You’ll have opportunities to present your works-in-progress during exclusive critiques and portfolio reviews, receiving direct feedback from the creative leaders who are shaping the future of the field.
Internships and Professional Experience in New York City
We offer an internship program tailored specifically to digital artists, with opportunities at a variety of NYC studios and companies in animation, visual effects, motion graphics, game design, interaction design, fine arts, and publishing. The Department of Digital Arts and Animation has a dedicated Internship Coordinator, in addition to Pratt’s larger professional network.

From the Catalog
Students create evocative narrative and non-narrative films and installations using 2-D and 3-D digital animation techniques, live action, and motion graphics. Recommended electives include history of animation, film criticism, traditional animation, character design and rigging, lighting and rendering, audio and video, compositing and special effects, and advanced digital animation techniques.
