STUDY ABROAD OPPORTUNITIES
Pratt in Puerto Rico
Institute-wide elective ADE 401/601 Community Matters offered in the spring includes a spring break to Puerto Rico. In a spring-break deep dive into Puerto Rican culture, history and politics, students participate in a series of cultural activities, enjoy unstructured time to explore San Juan and surrounding areas and engage with the local community. Students advance their knowledge of their discipline area through making explicit connections between academic learning and a community-based experience in a study-away program. Students work and learn alongside educational professionals in public schools or museums, interact with artists in studio visits, and with art curators and museum professionals in San Juan. N.B. Tuition cost and institutional fees are charged separately from the program fee. The program fee includes student housing, on-the-ground transportation and listed activities in Puerto Rico as communicated.

Pratt in South Korea
In a two-week summer program in Seoul, South Korea, students participate in a series of educational and cultural activities and enjoy unstructured time to explore Seoul and surrounding areas. Students are introduced to the history, culture, politics of South Korea through a series of tours and cultural experiences; learn about traditional and contemporary art and design practices through studio, museum and gallery visits; and advance their interests in teaching and learning through engaging with art and design educators (K-12, museum and college) and in school, university and program visits. Participating students must register for institute-wide elective, ADE 432P/632 Community Arts: The Networked City – 3 Credits.N.B. Tuition cost and institutional fees are charged separately from the program fee. The program fee includes student housing, on-the-ground transportation and listed activities in South Korea as communicated.

Pratt in Portugal
A semester-long exchange with Lusófona University in Lisbon, Portugal. Students take coursework in art and design education and studio electives at the University. The exchange also offers unique opportunities including student teaching in a Lisbon public high school teaching visual art (in English) and/or an internship with the Gulbenkian Foundation.
OPEN TO ADE MAJORS ONLY: juniors enrolled in the BFA in Art and Design Education during the spring semester of their senior year, and graduates in the BFA/MA in Art and Design Education students in the final semester of their 5th year are eligible. Information sessions are held in October, students apply a year ahead of their intended semester of travel.
