The d.r.a. (center for design research in architecture) supports faculty members of the School of Architecture at Pratt by facilitating research projects conducted with students. The d.r.a. aspires to assist motivated faculty members to pursue focused research projects. The primary goal is to further a culture of research in an Art & Design College by supporting faculty members while exposing students to academic rigor.

We foster the development of new ideas ranging from architectural theory to engineering, including rigorous experimental investigations in design and encourage inter- and cross-disciplinary explorations that focus on Making. We highly encourage publishing results with students in articles, peer-reviewed journals or conferences and support projects that will be made public via exhibitions.
