Jessica Kringstein (B.Arch ’25) received the 2025 Edward Allen Student Award for her work emphasizing the technical aspects of architecture.

Kringstein was awarded this medal in response to a summary of her work in the B.Arch program. In both studio courses and in the technology sequence, she excelled at incorporating issues learned in technology with design requirements in studio.

The Edward Allen Student Award recognizes students who, over their academic career, have demonstrated commitment, passion, curiosity, and excellence in the integration of building technology and architectural design. This award is named for Edward Allen, author of many books and texts that promote and define this integration. He was instrumental in the founding of the Building Technology Educators Society (BTES), which supports professors of technology at many schools of architecture in working toward this integration.

Since graduating from the B.Arch program, Kringstein has stayed on at Pratt, working on her Masters of Science in Architecture.
