Systematica US mobility consultancy, where School of Architecture faculty member Xenia Adjoubei leads U.S. business strategy, is part of a winning team in the international Maebashi Urban Design Competition in Japan.
The competition, “Designing the Future of the Street,” invited proposals to reimagine Maebashi’s central streets as inclusive, climate-responsive public spaces. Systematica’s winning entry, “Maebashi Green Junction,” proposed a transformation of key intersections into multi-functional civic spaces that integrate sustainable mobility, biodiversity, and local culture.
The jury—composed of renowned urban designers, architects, and municipal leaders—praised the project’s holistic vision and implementation potential. The recognition underscores Systematica’s role in shaping future-oriented urban mobility strategies and highlights the value of cross-cultural, interdisciplinary collaboration.
