The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has elevated SoA faculty member Sara Jazayeri to its College of Fellows, as part of its 2026 class. The FAIA honor is awarded to architects whose work has had a lasting impact on the profession and on society at a national level. Only 3 percent of AIA member architects receive this distinction, which recognizes leadership that extends beyond individual projects to shape the broader discipline.
Jazayeri’s elevation to the College of Fellows recognizes decades of leadership in advancing equity in the profession, supporting emerging architects, and promoting health-conscious and community-driven design. At Pratt, she teaches Construction Documents and Professional Practice in the Undergraduate Architecture program, where she challenges students to think critically about the ethical, managerial, and societal dimensions of architecture. Her courses emphasize the architect’s role not only as designer, but as advocate, leader, and steward of the built environment.
Jazayeri’s career reflects a sustained commitment to connecting design, mentorship, and civic responsibility. Born in Iran and raised in Paris before building her practice in New York, she brings an international perspective to both her professional work and her teaching. She is the founder and principal of Studio 360 Architecture + Interior Design and serves as president of AIA Bronx.
Jazayeri will be formally honored this June during the FAIA Investiture Ceremony at the 2026 AIA Conference on Architecture & Design in San Diego, with additional recognition on March 17 at the AIA Center for Architecture in New York.
