A Creative Hub in the Heart of NYC

Located at the intersection of the West Village, Meatpacking, Chelsea, Flatiron, and Union Square neighborhoods, Pratt Manhattan supports world-changing education within the vibrant center of the city. Recently renovated public and student facilities spanning over 96,000 square feet further accessibility, collaboration, and creativity within and beyond the Institute’s campus.

Academic Programs & Departments

Pratt Manhattan houses six academic programs, providing opportunities for fulltime, part-time, pre-college, and continuing education.

Students also have access to dedicated facilities such as a sound design room with a recording booth and green screen, a gaming design lab, a perfumery studio, and multipurpose spaces for lectures, collaborative studies, and more.

A Creative Hotspot

Pratt students get to know NYC’s leading cultural institutions and innovative companies through field visits, internships, and collaborative projects. The Whitney Museum, High Line, and Chelsea Gallery District are just a quick walk away—perfect for gallery hopping, inspiration, and professional networking. Recent partnerships have included the Brooklyn Museum, Frick Collection, MoMA, and the New York Art Resources Consortium (NYARC).

Pratt Manhattan is also in the center of the tech and design sector, with companies such as Google, Spotify, LinkedIn, Pentagram, and ODA Architecture.

14th Street

The city is always evolving, and 14th Street is no different. With the city’s $3 million plan to reimagine the corridor, 14th Street and the surrounding neighborhoods are getting cleaner, greener, and easier to navigate.

Pratt Institute is partnering with the Department of Transportation, Union Square Partnership, and the Meatpacking District, including launching the first public workshop at Pratt Manhattan, underscoring the Institute’s longstanding commitment to civic engagement.

Pratt Manhattan Gallery on 14th Street

The inviting, street-level gallery space welcomes visitors to art exhibitions and public events—inspiring creative collaboration and exploration between the Pratt community, Chelsea art scene, and local community.

The Pratt Manhattan Gallery presents exhibitions each year that reflect the interdisciplinary, research- and inquiry-based education that prepares Pratt students for success in creative endeavors and professional practice.
