Office of the Controller

The mission of the Office of the Controller is to account for, report on, and safeguard the financial resources of Pratt Institute in a manner that supports the Institute’s mission and community. It is the vision of the Controller’s Office staff to meet the financial and accounting needs of a diverse and dynamic campus community with quality performance in a professional, courteous and service-oriented manner. Additionally, we aspire to play a leadership role in higher education, finance and accounting.

The Controller’s Office consists of the following areas: General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Administrative Support Services (Purchasing, Copy Center and Mail Center) and Payroll.

All units in the Controller’s Officer are committed to:

  • Compliance with institutional policies, applicable laws and regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) to safeguard University assets.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of all financial information used campus-wide and institute-wide.
  • Working closely with our customers to provide timely answers and problem resolution.
