About
The Village West is Pratt Institute’s newest public-facing exhibition venue, transforming the vacant storefront windows of a recently completed residential building along Manhattan’s 14th Street corridor into a vibrant street-level gallery. The venue brings creative work beyond the classroom and gallery walls and into the everyday rhythm of one of New York City’s busiest pedestrian corridors, connecting neighborhoods from Union Square to the Meatpacking District.
The venue is the product of a partnership between Pratt Institute and The Village West, and reflects the Institute’s expanding presence in the heart of Manhattan and its commitment to working alongside neighborhood institutions, community partners, and cultural organizations—including the NYC Department of Transportation, Union Square Partnership, and the Meatpacking District Management Association—to reimagine the 14th Street corridor as a more vibrant, welcoming public experience.
