Fall and Spring Application Deadlines and Timeline
Fall
First-year high school applicants must apply to Pratt through the Common App. Transfer students from other colleges should apply using Pratt’s online application.
FALL 2022 HIGH SCHOOL APPLICANT (FIRST-YEAR STUDENT) DEADLINES
(1) Fall 2022 Early Action Deadline (non-binding): November 1, 2021.
(2) Fall 2022 Regular decision Deadline: Fall 2022 applications are closed, except for the following programs, which are extended to May 31:
- Fine Arts BFA (all concentrations)
- Interior Design BFA
- Film BFA
- Critical and Visual Studies BA
- Construction Management BS/BPS
Note that all required application materials, including portfolio if required, are due by the deadline, except high school transcripts, which may be sent up to two weeks after the application deadline.
Early action decisions are mailed by the end of December/beginning of January. Regular decision packets are mailed by April 1 to applicants whose applications are complete when decisions are made.
FALL 2022 TRANSFER STUDENT DEADLINES:
Fall 2022 transfer applications are extended to May 31 for all programs. Please note space is not available in all programs at all placement levels, and this is something we determine upon reviewing available transcripts. After you’ve applied, if your determined placement does not match available space, we will be happy to forward your application to a future term, free of charge. All required application materials are due by the application deadline.
FALL 2022 ASSOCIATE’S DEGREE STUDENT DEADLINES:
Fall 2022 associate’s application are extended to May 31 for high school applicants and transfer applicants. Although applications will continue to be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, we urge you to apply by the priority deadlines. Decisions are mailed on a rolling basis starting in March.
Spring
Spring 2022 Application Deadlines
September 1 (recommended for international applicants, however, we will accept applications later).
October 18 (US citizens and permanent residents) Decisions mailed mid-late November.
Associate's degree applicants: October 18.
Programs Open for Spring Entrance
High School Applicants: Associates degrees (AOS only) (Manhattan campus) and Construction Management programs (Manhattan campus).
Transfers: The following majors will accept transfer students for spring regardless of placement (first or second semester): construction management, art history, art and design education (for sophomore level only), writing, and critical and visual studies. Transfer applicants for architecture and fashion design are only accepted for fall start terms.

Submission of Application and Supporting Documents
First-year high school applicants must apply to Pratt using the Common App. Transfer students must apply using Pratt online application. The online application should be submitted no later than the stated application deadlines. All required documents including portfolio if required should be submitted by the deadline, however you have up to two weeks after the deadline to send high school transcripts. The application should be submitted first before the other documents in order to file your documents with your application, but if supplementary documents arrive first, they will be filed and then assembled when your application arrives. If your application is incomplete, we will contact you by email to let you know what is missing in enough time for you to submit the missing document(s). Please check your email spam filter for communications from Pratt. Make sure to check your promotions folders as well.
