Fall and Spring Application Deadlines and Timeline
High School Applicant (First-year Students) Deadlines
Fall 2021 Early Action Deadline (non-binding): November 11, 2020.
Fall 2021 Regular decision Deadline: extended to March 8, 2021. Note that all required application materials, including portfolio if required, are due by the deadline, except high school transcripts, which may be sent up to two weeks after the application deadline.
Early action decisions are mailed by the end of December/beginning of January. Regular decision packets are mailed by April 1.
Fall 2021 Transfers Students: March 8, 2021. All required application materials are due by the application deadline.
Fall 2021 Associate's Degree Applicants
Priority deadlines: extended to March 8, 2021 for high school applicants and February 1 for transfer applicants. Although applications will continue to be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, we urge you to apply by the priority deadlines. Decisions are mailed on a rolling basis starting in March.
Spring 2021 Application Deadlines
September 1 (recommended for international applicants, however, we will accept applications later).
November 25 (US citizens and permanent residents) Decisions mailed mid-late November.
Associate's degree applicants: November 25.
Programs Open for Spring Entrance
High School Applicants: all programs accept spring applications including the associate degrees (Manhattan campus), History of Art and Design, and Construction Management programs, as well as all programs in the Schools of Art and Design (see www.pratt.edu/academics ). Writing, architecture, and the BA in Critical and Visual Studies do not accept spring applicants.
Transfers: all programs are open for spring for transfer students.
*First semester students who start in the spring must complete the spring semester starting in January, followed by a full-time summer session (first semester, first-year students only). Students must enroll full-time in the summer. Students then begin in the fall in sequence. Note: If you enroll in another college during the fall your application will need to be reconsidered, and you will be a transfer applicant if you did not already apply as a transfer. Note that spring applicants may not defer their admission to another term. Spring applicants who do not place as first-semester students do not need to take the summer session. Submission of Application and Supporting Documents
The online application should be submitted no later than the stated application deadlines. All required documents including portfolio if required should be submitted by the deadline, however you have up to two weeks after the deadline to send high school transcripts. The application should be submitted first before the other documents in order to file your documents with your application, but if supplementary documents arrive first, they will be filed and then assembled when your application arrives. If your application is incomplete, we will contact you by email to let you know what is missing in enough time for you to submit the missing document(s). Please check your email spam filter for communications from Pratt. Make sure to check your promotions folders as well.
Once you have applied, you may check your application status online through the application portal.
