Checking Your Application Status

Thank you for your application to Pratt Institute. We’re excited to learn more about you! Instructions for checking your application status as a first-year high school applicant or transfer applicant are listed below. Please review the section carefully.

Early Action applicants can expect to receive an admissions decision by mid-December.

Applicants who have applied to both the Brooklyn campus and Munson campus will receive separate decisions for each location. If you do not receive both decisions within two weeks of one another letters in this time frame, please contact admissions@pratt.edu.

First-Year High School Applicants

Upon completion of your application through the Common App, you will receive an email within a few days confirming receipt of your application as well as a second email with instructions for creating a password to access your application status checklist.  Once you have created your login, you will be able to check the status of your application at the link below.  The emails will not be sent immediately after submitting your application. Please wait a few days to receive them.

Note:  If you have not received the email prompting you to create your password a week after submitting your application, simply go to the link below, enter the email address used to apply, and click on “forgot password” to create a password, then follow the prompts.

Please note that it takes two to three weeks for materials to show up on your checklist. It takes us time to process all of the materials you have sent. Instead of calling the office or emailing to find out if we have received your materials, we ask that you watch your checklist for confirmation. If you do not see your items listed by three weeks, check the paragraph below under “Why Items Fail to Show Up on Checklist”.

If you are unable to access your checklist, please email services@pratt.edu.

Transfer Applicants

Check the status of your application online at the link below using your email address and the password you created when you submitted your application. Note that you will not be able to check your status until your application has been completed and submitted. It takes two to three weeks for materials to show up on your checklist. Instead of calling the office or emailing to find out if we have received your materials, we ask that you watch your checklist for confirmation. If you do not see your items listed by three weeks, check the paragraph below under “Why Items Fail to Show Up on Checklist”.

Once you click on the link below, please select either undergraduate or graduate in the application section to access the login screen, where you will then be able to check your status.

Why Items Fail to Show Up On Checklist

Items fail to show up on the checklist for the following reasons:

  1. You used a different name, or reversed your given and family name, on one or more of the materials submitted (transcript, SAT, ACT, TOEFL)
  2. You used a different name, or reversed your given and family name, in Slideroom
  3. You used a different address on one or more documents
  4. You used a different social security number on one or more documents

Any of the reasons above will result in failure to match documents to your application. If this is the case, please contact admissions@pratt.edu

If you have questions about the documents you are required to submit or how to submit them, please review application requirements. If you still have a question, contact admissions@pratt.edu

Note: Pratt Institute does not make admissions decisions available online. Your decision will be emailed to you as well as mailed.
