Learning how to participate across differences is an ongoing practice. The Office of Engagement, Culture & Community (ECC) offers resources, workshops, dialogue opportunities, and consultations for Pratt community members on engagement, culture, accessibility, community relationships, and shared practice.
Use this page to begin your own learning, prepare for a conversation, support a team or classroom, or identify a resource for continued study. These materials are starting points. They work best when they lead to reflection, informed action, and continued learning in relationship with others.

Resource Guides & Toolkits
Pratt Institute Libraries develops and maintains research guides that support teaching, study, creative practice, and inquiry. ECC connects community members with these guides and may collaborate with the Libraries and other campus partners on related learning opportunities.
No guide can capture every perspective, nor can they replace sustained study. Use these collections as entry points, consider the context and date of each source, and continue learning through scholarship, lived knowledge, dialogue, and responsible practice.

Training, Workshops & Professional Learning
The ECC offers educational opportunities that help participants strengthen communication, dialogue, accessibility, collaboration, institutional engagement, and shared responsibility. Programs are designed with campus partners and adapted to the purpose, participants, and setting.

Dialogue & Learning Opportunities
The ECC supports structured opportunities to practice curiosity, critical thinking, attentive listening, and responsible participation across differences. The purpose is not to force agreement. It creates conditions for people to examine assumptions, understand impact, engage complexity, and identify what responsible action may require.
Perspectives
Perspectives, developed by the Constructive Dialogue Institute, is a learning program that introduces practical approaches for engaging disagreement, recognizing common thinking patterns, and communicating across differences. Pratt offerings should identify the intended audience, format, access information, and current registration route.
Dialogue Resources & Preparation
Preparation guides can help hosts clarify purpose, invite participants, establish agreements, plan for accessibility, respond to tension, and connect a conversation with follow-through. A facilitated dialogue is a learning process; it should not be used to bypass a formal complaint, a safety response, an accommodation process, or a decision-making responsibility.
