New student orientation is an exciting time at Pratt. Whether you are a first year student, a graduate student, or a transfer/Pratt Munson relocation student, we have a comprehensive program for you. During your orientation, you’ll get tons of valuable information and meet other new students.
Orientation will take place from August 17th (Move in Day) to August 24.
Family Orientation: Virtual session will be held Saturday, August 2 at 10am Eastern. More information will be sent this summer.
Move in Day for all new students: August 17
First Year students: August 18-August 24
Please note that there are mandatory orientation sessions for all first year students, so plan to attend the entire orientation. The orientation will acclimate students to the campus, the academic programs, Brooklyn and New York, as well as provide opportunities to meet fellow new students.
Transfer students: August 18-August 24
Transfer students are invited and welcome at all orientation events. None of the sessions are mandatory (except for Common Experience), but do provide opportunities to meet other students, learn about Pratt, Brooklyn and NY and also to enjoy orientation activities. There will be specific transfer student sessions throughout the week.
Pratt Munson Relocation Students: August 18-August 24
Students coming to Brooklyn from our Munson/Utica campus are invited and welcome at all orientation events. None of the sessions are mandatory, (except for Common Experience), but do provide opportunities to learn about the campus, Brooklyn and NY and also to enjoy orientation activities. Sessions specific to our Munson students will be held throughout the week.
Graduate Students: Date TBD
ALL Graduate students will have a half-day orientation on the Brooklyn campus together, no matter where your classes take place (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Pfizer, Navy Yard). Certain departments may have academic meetings that day and there will be a reception in the afternoon for ALL graduate students. These programs allow students to meet each other, learn about campus resources, and navigate the Brooklyn campus. In addition to this specific date, you are invited to participate in any of the orientation events throughout the week.
Graduate Orientation date will be shared in July.

- Log in to www.discord.com
- Go to “Explore Public Servers” icon on the left side
- Under “Discover” select “Student Hubs”
- You will be asked to enter your Pratt email address
- Once you are in, you can search for “Pratt Orientation 25-26” or “Pratt Grad Students”
