For Pratt Faculty and Staff

A group of three individuals is engaged in a collaborative project in a workshop. They are wearing bright green headphones and focused on a computer screen displaying software.

Building Partnerships at Pratt

External partnerships help further faculty research and curricular goals while serving the broader community and advancing Pratt’s mission to “educate artists and creative professionals who shape the world we live in.”

The Office for Research and Strategic Partnerships (ORSP) is here to help you cultivate and formalize these relationships.

For detailed information, see our Partnerships Guidance [must be logged into onePratt].

Approached about a partnership?

If an external organization reaches out to you about a potential collaboration, you don’t need to figure out the next steps on your own. Just complete our quick Partnership Inquiry Form to loop ORSP into the process—we will share resources, provide guidance and support, and connect you to other relevant divisions at Pratt.

Is it time to formalize a partnership?

If you’ve been collaborating with an external organization and want to move forward with a formal partnership, consider these questions:

  • Is there a concrete benefit for Pratt in collaborating?
  • What does Pratt offer the partner?
  • How does the partnership advance your department’s or the Institute’s mission?
  • Will it produce work products or deliverables?
  • Are the right people involved, or would additional collaborators help?
  • Will intellectual property (IP) be created?

How to get started

  1. Email partnerships@pratt.edu with a completed Project Discovery Document describing the opportunity.
  2. ORSP reviews and schedules a fact-finding interview.
  3. The primary contact then completes a Proposal Routing Form.
  4. After negotiations, partnerships with deliverables or in-kind/monetary support are formalized through an agreement with a detailed scope of work.
