Hoda Ramy

Hoda Ramy is an Iranian-born, NYC-based artist, filmmaker, educator, and curator whose practice spans animation, moving image, and visual storytelling. Her work has been featured by The New Yorker, TED-Ed, and Forbes, and her films and music videos have screened internationally, receiving recognition from the ASIFA-East Animation Festival, Alpine International Film Festival, Vancouver Women Film Festival, and Independent Shorts Awards.

Ramy holds an MFA in Digital Arts from Pratt Institute and teaches animation, post-production, and visual storytelling at Pratt Institute and CUNY City Tech. Her creative practice explores cinematic language and the expressive possibilities of animation and moving image, with her current work investigating embodiment, intimacy, identity, and the relationships between bodies and lived experience.

She is also Art Director and a core curator of Emruz, an NYC-based SWANA community arts festival created by artists for artists, where she develops film and visual arts programming and supports contemporary artists from the SWANA community.
