Middle States Accreditation

Pratt is currently engaged in an accreditation process with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), one of six regional accreditors in the United States and the accrediting body for Pratt as an institution of higher education. Learn more about the process.

Accreditation Statement

Pratt Institute is a coeducational undergraduate and graduate institution chartered and empowered to confer academic degrees by the State of New York. The degrees and for-credit certificates conferred are registered with the New York State Department of Education (NYSED).

Pratt is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), 3624 Market Street, 2nd floor west, Philadelphia, Pa. 19104, telephone: 267.284.5000, email: info@msche.org. The Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation. 

In the School of Architecture, the B.ARCH. and M.ARCH. in Architecture programs are accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). The M.S. in Facilities Management program is accredited by the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) and the M.S. in Urban and Community Planning is accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board. The Masters in Landscape Architecture program will apply for accreditation by the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB) in 2025.

In the School of Art, the B.F.A., B.F.A./M.S., M.S. and Advanced Certificate in Art and Design Education programs are accredited by the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP). The M.P.S in Art Therapy program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of The Accreditation Council for Art Therapy Education. Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs www.caahep.org, 25400 US Hwy 19N, Suite 158, Clearwater, FL. 33763. 727-210-2350. The M.S. in Dance/Movement Therapy program is approved by the American DanceTherapy Association (ADTA).  

In the School of Design, the B.F.A., Interior Design program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA).

In the School of Information, the M.S. in Library and Information Science program is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of the American Library Association (ALA).
