What is a TEC?

Technology Enhanced Classrooms are spaces with built-in computing and multimedia equipment to aid in the teaching, collaboration, and presentation of material with students. TEC’s are a result of a partnership between the Office of the Provost and Information Technology with support from Academic Computing.

  • Mac Computer
  • Laptop Input (HDMI)
  • Laptop Power Supply

TEC Hybrid Teaching Station

The TEC Hybrid Teaching Station is designed for virtually linked classes using Zoom, where some participants are in-person and others remote. One display is intended to show a presentation or view of the classroom, and the other a view of each participant.

At the front of the cart is where you’ll find most of the components for interactivity, such as the web-camera, microphone, wireless keyboard, speaker, and controls. Behind the scenes, each TV is connected to the Mac Mini and peripheral devices to a USB expansion hub.

  • (2) 55” 4K Displays
  • Audio Interface with Shotgun Condenser & Cardioid Dynamic XLR Microphones
  • Full HD USB Web Camera
  • USB Speaker
  • Wireless Keyboard with trackpad mouse

We encourage all users to access their files with Pratt’s Google Drive cloud storage. Windows specific software can be accessed via Launchpad in the OnePratt portal.

TEC AV CART

The TEC AV cart mirrors the simplicity of the TEC Lite classroom in a mobile capacity. It is designed as a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) unit. An HDMI cable with multiple adapters are provided.

  • 4K 65” Display w/ built-in speaker
  • Laptop Input (HDMI cable w/ appropriate adapters)
