Taezoo Park is a Korean-born, New York–based artist and digitologist whose practice investigates forms of existence emerging from technological remnants.

Since 2008, when the shift to digital broadcasting left CRT televisions stranded on New York sidewalks, Park has gathered abandoned electronics as archaeological traces of contemporary civilization. Through a process he calls Unmaking, he dismantles these machines, observes what persists inside them, and reactivates them to sense, signal, and form relationships of their own.

From this observation emerged Digital Being, an entity Park encountered long before he could name it, and with it the Digital Being Universe, a technological ecology with its own senses, signals, and logic of becoming. Philosophy came later. Searching for language to describe what he was seeing, Park found that thinkers had long asked the same questions about how beings sense and inhabit their worlds.

In Digitology, the framework that grew from this practice, Park approaches technology through archaeology, memory, and ontology, working as an observer and excavator of technological existence.

Park’s work has been presented at the World Trade Center, Gucci Wooster, Pratt Manhattan Gallery, ACM SIGGRAPH Asia, and Miami Art Week. Since 2024, his long-term installation Digital Being: Radio Row has run continuously at 120 Broadway in Lower Manhattan. He teaches Interactive Media and Physical Computing at Pratt Institute’s Department of Digital Arts.
