Biography
Shari Francis is a Brooklyn-based interior designer, maker, and educator with over a decade of experience leading inclusive, research-informed design projects across senior living, healthcare, hospitality, residential, and workplace sectors. As founder and principal of DADAPT, a MWBE-certified interior design studio, she blends space planning, FF&E strategy, and cultural sensitivity to create human-centered environments that prioritize wellness, accessibility, and long-term functionality. A passionate maker, Shari incorporates craft and material experimentation into her design process, often drawing from her Caribbean and North American heritage. In addition to her professional practice, she teaches Sophomore Studio at Pratt Institute, where she guides emerging designers in finding their individual voices through spatial storytelling, critical thinking, and conceptual development.
