Sarah Strauss

Founder and principal of XS Architect; XS Architect is a practice dedicated to tropical architecture and new ornament, and operates in Rincon Puerto Rico; cofounder of Bigprototype LLC with John Nafziger; Strauss is the Vice President of KinoSaito Art Center and serves as the Director of the Artist in Residence program; Strauss worked with Pratt and twenty2 to bring the project of 3-D wallpaper to market in 2015; Strauss wrote the chapter “Ulterior Motives” in Deborah Schneiderman and Alexa Griffith Winton’s book Textile Technology and Design, (Bloomsbury Academic, 2016); Strauss was awarded the CIDA Innovation in Education Award 2012 and the CIDA Excellence in Education Award 2015 and 2018.
