Biography
Sarah Schmerler is a conceptual artist and writing specialist whose work embraces Encounter, the Uncanny, and the ways art builds Community. An art critic with more than 200 published reviews and articles in major art publications (The New York Times, The Village Voice, Art in America, Art & Auction, Time Out New York), she also teaches in the Critical Studies Department of the New York Academy of Art and the English Department of the New York City College of Technology. Schmerler co-leads NYCCT’s FLEXLab (Faculty Learning and Experimentation) where she helps educators explore the ethical and creative potential of emerging AI tools.
