Biography
Robert McConnell is an experienced communication designer with a long-standing affinity for visual systems, information mapping, and typographic-centric design.
As the Senior Graphic Designer on Pratt’s Creative Services team, Robert plays a key role in shaping Pratt’s graphic identity system, working closely with colleagues and campus partners to amplify and strengthen Pratt’s visual brand across a wide array of applications.
Previously, Robert served as a designer at Artnet, an online research, news, and trading platform for the art market. He has also worked on a number of freelance projects for the League of Women Voters of the City of New York, Cushman and Wakefield Global Hospitality, and others. Additionally, Robert has served as an adjunct instructor at Parsons School of Design in its Communication Design department, teaching a number of courses on typography, digital design, information design, and more.
Robert holds a MFA in Graphic Design from Rhode Island School of Design, an AAS in Graphic Design from Parsons School of Design, and an AB in East Asian Studies from Occidental College. He was born and raised in Brooklyn.
