Biography
Recipient of a Pratt faculty development grant, and finishing funds from the New York State Council on the Arts; awarded the ASIFA-East Animation Festival Independent Animation First Prize, Jury Prize for Best Animation at the Lower East Side Film Festival, and the Stockholm Animation and Experimental Film Festival’s Best Animated Film Jury Award for There’s Too Many of These Crows; awarded a Special Jury Prize from Animafest Cyprus for There’s a Robbery in Progress; created and produced the Twillerama animation anthology; has contributed animation to PBS’s American Experience and Storycorps, worked in post-production on feature films Black Swan, Uncut Gems, The Wrestler, and Moonrise Kingdom; digital film restorer for The Criterion Collection (2005-2008), and Technicolor.
Morgan Miller’s animated shorts have screened in Fantastic Fest, Ottawa International Animation Festival, Exground, Holly Shorts London, Woodstock Film Festival, Festival of Animation Berlin, Bill Plympton’s World of Animation Shorts / Martha’s Vineyard Film Society, Sidewalk, Tallgrass, Florida Film Festival, New Orleans Film Festival, Saint Louis International Film Festival, Thomas Edison Film Festival, Montclair Film Festival. There’s Too Many of These Crows was featured in The Best of NYC Indie Animation retrospective at The Metrograph. Miller’s artwork has been exhibited at Pierogi Gallery, MANA Contemporary, and Lagstein Gallery.
