Mikki Xu is a 3D animation artist and interdisciplinary storyteller whose practice explores the intersection of technology, narrative, and immersive experience. Working across film, game worlds, and emerging media, she investigates how digital tools can expand emotional language and reshape the relationship between audience and story.

Xu received her Master of Fine Arts in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts in 2013. Over the past decade, she has contributed to major animated films, AAA games, and large-scale interactive projects, including internationally recognized franchises such as Transformers, Fortnite, and Horizon. While grounded in high-level production pipelines, her artistic inquiry extends beyond commercial frameworks—focusing on how animation operates as both cinematic expression and spatial, interactive experience.

In recent years, Mikki’s practice has increasingly shifted toward research-driven creation. She examines the convergence of real-time rendering and interactive narrative systems—questioning how emerging technologies can transform linear storytelling into participatory, spatial, and responsive experiences. Her work situates animation not only as image-making, but as world-building: constructing emotional architectures that viewers inhabit rather than simply observe.

By bridging cinematic craft with technological experimentation, Mikki Xu continues to push animation beyond the screen—toward hybrid forms where narrative, interaction, and immersive media converge.
