Matthew Northridge is a New York-based artist whose work is largely a melding of collage, paper, found material and objects, sculpture and installation. He has shown his work throughout the U.S. and internationally. His work has been included in exhibitions at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the National Academy Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, and the Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre (City University of Hong Kong). Solo exhibitions include shows at Galerie Gisela Clement (Bonn), KANSAS (NYC), Western Exhibitions (Chicago), and Gorney Bravin + Lee (NYC). His work has been reviewed in Art Papers, The New York Times, Artforum, The Village Voice, Time Out New York and Art in America, among others. Northridge has been a resident at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, the Irish Museum of Modern Art, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and the MacDowell Colony. He has received grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and the New York Foundation for the Arts.
