Lapshan is a registered architect in New York and received his M.Arch from the University of Washington. After studying in Rome, Liverpool, and Mexico, he interned at Steven Holl Architects before starting a Design/Build practice in Seattle and the Bay Area. He returned to New York to collaborate with his colleague Masa Sono on the design and completion of the Staten Island 9/11 Memorial for NYCEDU. He was Senior Associate at hanrahan Meyers architects (hMa) and served as Director of Design at Battery Park City Authority where he developed and implemented policies focused on the design, sustainability, and resiliency of the 92 acres Lower Manhattan community. He founded North Point Studio in 2014 and has since completed numerous residential, commercial, and cultural projects in Seattle, Seoul, San Francisco, and New York City.
