Karin Yngvesdotter is an Adjunct Professor with CCE, in the Fashion Department at Pratt Institute. She has taught at Pratt for over 20 years, at every level from Freshmen year to Senior year.

With over 30 years’ experience in the Fashion Industry, she has a profound knowledge of garment construction, production and fit, for every size and body.

She has worked and consulted for companies and brands such as Natori, Christian Dior Daywear, Leigh Bantivoglio, Lisa Marie Fernandez, Arin Rose Swim, Swimsuits for all, Third love, Lane Bryant, Victoria Secret, Araks, Arianne Elmy, Jane Mayle, just to mention a few.

She owned her own wedding gown company K. Yngvesdotter Couture Inc, and was featured in publications and programs such as In Style Weddings, GoNY, Manhattan Bride, Hitch, Planning the Day, Martha Stewart Inside weddings and Buff Brides.

K.Yngvesdotter Couture Inc. became known for being an inclusive and diverse wedding gown company. Her clients were brides of every size, culture and personality.

Karin also weaves, crochets and knits.

Not only does Karin share her extensive knowledge and love for Fashion in the classroom, but has always been deeply involved in curriculum development at Pratt. She has mentored many students through competitions, independent studies and after graduation.
