Biography
José Benítez (he/they) is a New York–based multimedia artist, graphic designer, and media scholar whose work explores participatory art, identity, and media’s role in shaping cultural power. A core member of Mobile Print Power since 2016, he has co-led public art projects and workshops on social change, immigration, and social justice, with collaborations at the Brooklyn Museum, Queens Botanical Garden, New York University, Queens Museum, NYC Parks, and Public Art Fund. His individual and collective works have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, Institute of Contemporary Art at the Maine College of Art, Museum of the City of New York, Baruch College’s New Media Artspace, and the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe, among others.
