Born and raised 45 minutes north of Philadelphia, PA…I was exposed to the arts early and often. My father was a seasoned commercial artist, well versed in photography, graphic design, illustration, print making, and architectural design.

He and my mom owned and operated a studio early on and later invented an art storage system, that he patented, developed, and built a manufacturing facility to handle.

Always encouraged to follow my love of art, I started out in all the usual art classes, and when available, attended vocational technical school for commercial art until graduating high school. From there I followed my path south to North Carolina where I studied computer animation for a short time, followed by applying to Savannah College of Art and Design where I studied Illustration. Due to complications out of my control, my education was halted after 2 years at SCAD, whereas I decided to move back to PA to start a screen print shop with my brother. We owned and operated our facility for 12 years before selling it in 2013.

At that time I was reintroduced to a former roommate and friend from SCAD who had also moved back north to New Jersey, fell in love, got married, and she encouraged me to finish my education at Pratt. While attending school, I also worked again within the screen print industry, my wife and I had a baby girl, Covid-19 hit, and I graduated with a somewhat disappointing online ceremony.

After graduating, I continued to work, and also decided to start my own studio, with the help and support of my wife. We had our second baby girl, and soon after I was asked to join the faculty here at Pratt Manhattan.
