Genevieve Leonard

Adjunct Assistant Professor; Lecturer

Genevieve (Eve) Leonard is a filmmaker and art educator. She has BFA degrees in Filmmaking and Animation from University of the Arts and an MFA in Film Directing from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).

Since 2001, Eve has worked in a variety of roles from storyboard artist to director. The majority of her professional experience is in art education. During her eighteen year career in academia, she has worked as faculty, assistant chair, and department chair at institutions in Philadelphia and New York. Her current academic research demands a high-level of technical understanding and practice with a focus on unorthodox methods of audience participation – VR technology, transmedia, and interactive theater. She is currently working as a freelance director in the New York area while being an active member of ASIFA East and Communications Lead for Women in Animation – NYC.
