Farzam Yazdanseta
Associate Chairperson of Undergraduate Architecture; Adjunct Associate Professor
Biography
Farzam Yazdanseta, AIA, NCARB, is an educator and licensed architect registered in New York and Maryland. He is the co-founder of Studio FOU: Studio Farzam Yazdanseta Ursula Trost Architecture DPC, based in Brooklyn. Since 2012, he has been a member of the faculty at Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture. His previous academic appointments include teaching positions at the Rhode Island School of Design Department of Architecture, the City College of New York The Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute School of Architecture, and the University of Maryland School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
Farzam received a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University GSAPP in 2010. He also holds both undergraduate and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Maryland, where he was awarded first prize in architectural design in the 2007–2008 FormZ Joint Study Award Program and was a recipient of the 2008 Thesis Prize in Architecture.
He has served as Associate Chairperson for undergraduate architecture at Pratt since April 2023, following his roles as Acting Associate Chairperson from 2021 to 2023 and Assistant Chairperson from 2019 to 2021.
Farzam is an active member of the American Institute of Architects and maintains NCARB certification.
