Biography
Emily Beall, Adjunct Assistant Professor w/CCE, is a teacher, researcher, poet, and former used and new bookseller. Her areas of interest include modern and contemporary literature, modern and postmodern dance, labor studies, and feminism/feminist theory. She teaches in the Core Humanities program, and teaches electives in young adult literature, the literature and performance of labor, and theory for artists, designers, and writers.
Having worked at Pratt for over nineteen years, Emily has performed extensive service to the Institute, including co-chairing the Humanities and Media Studies Curriculum Review Committee, serving on the Senate Academic Policy Committee, coordinating the Literature and Writing minor, serving on multiple search committees, and advising the Pratt Feminists student group. She also served as Assistant Chairperson of Humanities and Media Studies, and has held multiple roles in the Faculty Union.
