My work focuses on Modern and Contemporary Art and Architecture, with a focus on performance, new media and socio-politically engaged artwork. I take a multi-disciplinary approach to my teaching and research, with my dissertation tackling how popular culture and countercultural redefinitions of politics and sexuality influenced the early performance and video work of Bruce Nauman, Paul McCarthy and Mike Kelley. My scholarly interests include the New York Avant-Garde and Architecture, Urban Development, American art of the 60s and 70s, protest art, Photography and Public Art.
