Biography
My research investigates the intersectional histories of environment, race, and incarceration in the U.S. My first book, A Prison in the Woods: Environment and Incarceration in New York’s North Country, was published by the University of Massachusetts Press in 2020. My work has also been featured on CNN, MSNBC, NPR, in The New York Times, and in a variety of other media and scholarly outlets. At Pratt, I teach SUST 311 (American Environmental History) and SUST 420 (Environmental Justice).
