Biography
Christopher Ward, P.E., is a licensed professional structural engineer with over 15 years of experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects and developing sustainable design solutions. He holds professional engineering licenses in New York and California and specializes in mission-critical facilities, mass-timber construction, and complex structural systems.
Currently a Senior Associate at StructureCraft, Christopher oversees mass-timber design-build projects, applying his expertise in Revit, Bluebeam, and BIM360 to support efficient project execution. His recent work includes leading the engineering of a hybrid mass-timber technology campus in North Carolina, where he integrates sustainable design principles with practical engineering solutions.
During his nine years as a Senior Associate at Thornton Tomasetti, Christopher directed engineering teams on major infrastructure projects, such as the LaGuardia Airport Terminal B and the JFK Terminal 1 Replacement, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing project delivery under strict timelines and budgets.
Christopher also contributes to engineering education as a Visiting Associate Professor at Pratt Institute, where he has taught structural engineering courses since 2014, focusing on design methods and structural theory.
Christopher earned both his Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. His technical expertise includes seismic design, steel and concrete design, and advanced structural analysis.
