Biography
Caitlin Craggs is an NYC-based animator and multidisciplinary artist. She directs “bona fide weird” animation for documentaries, TV and music videos. Her work has been supported by the Sundance Institute, the Princess Grace Foundation, SPACE at Ryder Farms, and the New York Film Festival Artist Academy. Her films have screened in festivals worldwide including Rotterdam, Slamdance (Grand Jury Prize for Best Experimental Short 2018), and Images (York University Prize for Best Student Work on Screen 2018). Her work has been featured in the New York Times, The Atlantic, Cartoon Brew, and Vimeo.
A passion for ecology and the natural world run through Caitlin’s work. Most recently she directed animation for Second Nature a feature doc narrated by Elliot Page about the diversity of sexual behaviors in the animal kingdom.
Caitlin is an avid gardener who occasionally uses ladybugs as animation assistants.
