Adjunct Assistant Professor
Visual artist based in New York working in a range of media including video, code-driven art, and mechanical sculptures. DeFelice is an Associate Professor of Media Studies, and Digital Arts faculty at Pratt Institute. Her work has shown in various forms as performances, installation, screenings, and in part of collaborative and public intervention projects. Exhibition venues include The Austrian Cultural Forum, The Invisible Dog, Harvestworks, Portal: Governor’s Island, and The Painting Center. She’s exhibited internationally in galleries and alternative spaces including Periferic 8 Biennial for Contemporary Art: Art As Gift, in IaÈ™i, Romania, Lab for Electronic Arts & Performance (LEAP), in Berlin, The Contemporary Art Center in Thessaloniki, Greece, and Hafnarborg Centre of Culture & Fine Art in HafnarfjoÌˆrdur, Iceland. She’s participated in several artist and engineering residencies in Europe and in the US, including Harvestworks (US) and at Hafnarborg (IS). She’s gallery director at Pratt’s Digital Arts Department, and at her own DIY space, Cavebird Art Space, in Greenwood Brooklyn.
