Aaron S. Davidson is an artist and educator based in New York. Davidson is a graduate of the MFA program at the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, Bard College. Davidson received his BA in Studio Arts from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque where he studied photography, expanded cinema and electronic music. In collaboration with the artist Melissa Dubbin, he has co-authored work across a variety of mediums.

Dubbin and Davidson were each awarded a 2022 Guggenheim Fellowship in the Creative Arts from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. They have been awarded several residencies including EPFL Pavilions, Lausanne Switzerland (2020), the François Pinault Collection Residency, France (2016), Fieldwork : Marfa, Texas (2015); Recess, New York, NY (2013); Anderson Ranch, Colorado (2008); Visiting Artist/Scholars at New York University, Advanced Media Studio/Lab, (2006), Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Workspace 120:Broadway Residency (2005-06); Sculpture Center’s In Practice program (2006) and the Experimental Television Center, Owego, NY (2002), Their work has been funded by grants from The New York State Council of the Arts (2009, 2003) and an NYC Sound Art Fellowship from Media Alliance and the Jerome Foundation (2001). Their work is held in several private and public collections including the collection of the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.

Their work has been the subject of reviews and features in The New York Times, Cabinet Magazine, Contemporary Art Daily, ArtPress, Harper’s Magazine, The New Yorker, Kunstforum, The Village Voice, and Sculpture Magazine among other publications. They have published several artists books, and have contributed to books and publications distributed by One Star Press, Cabinet Books, Eastside Projects and Torpedo Press.

Their work was recently featured in rīvus, the 23rd Biennale of Sydney, Australia and BioMedia, The Age of Media with Life-like Behavior at ZKM Center for Art and Media, Karlsruhe, Germany.
