The 2026 Material Lab Prize was awarded to Caleb Callahan, BFA Fashion Design ’26, for his collection Cork, Kerala. “Callahan draws inspiration from Irish and Indian anti-colonial resistance, incorporating a range of craft traditions into an explicitly political, layered collage… The jury recognized the collection for its authentic synthesis of craft traditions, striking visual execution, and cohesive storytelling, particularly for its ability to transform recycled materials into a compelling language of resistance.”
