Program Faculty Director of MFA Photography Katherine Hubbard’s project to photograph her ailing mother was featured in The Guardian. “Finding herself suddenly in the role of a ‘caretaker under duress,’ Hubbard decided to photograph her housebound mother and her environment. ‘The camera fails us in so many ways,’ she says, ‘and the absurdity with dementia is that I was constantly making lots of images of things that can’t be shown in an image. But I make images because of how they feel, not how they look.’”
