  • Triage: A triage appointment is the first step in starting services. During the triage, the Counseling Center clinician gathers information about you and what type of assistance you are looking for. At the end of the triage, the Counseling Center clinician will discuss with you the best resource, whether that is short term care at the center, connecting you with an off-campus provider for long term care, connecting you with RWW for life coaching, or connecting you with a Counseling Center group.
  • Consultation: A one time appointment where the focus is on obtaining resources or trying to solve a problem. In a consultation, a student is not interested in ongoing care, but rather interested in connecting with resources.
  • Individual Psychotherapy: Student meets with Counseling Center therapist and addresses a variety of concerns and the student is seen for ongoing care at the center. Individual therapy is offered on a short term basis.
  • Group Therapy: Students participate in sessions with other Pratt students who are addressing similar stressors in their lives.
  • Creative Arts Therapy: This service is provided by the Counseling Center’s Creative Arts Therapist and uses a medium in which students can creatively express themselves through art, dance, or music while also addressing their psychological needs.
  • Crisis Intervention: Students can access the center between the hours of 9am and 5pm if they feel they are experiencing a mental health crisis. During the crisis appointment, a Counseling Center clinician will assess your safety and discuss appropriate resources.
  • Workshops: Counseling Center staff offers a variety of workshops for students to attend. These workshops cover a variety of topics and are offered as a one time option or a series.
  • Medication Evaluation: The Counseling Center can connect students who are interested in being evaluated for psychotropic medications to either the Pratt Health Services department or to a prescriber within the center for evaluation.
