Cultural Highlights & Community Observances spotlights significant cultural traditions, heritage celebrations, religious and spiritual holy days, awareness and visibility dates, and historic commemorations that reflect the intersecting identities shaping the Pratt community.
This initiative aims to deepen cross-cultural understanding, promote cultural humility and connection, encourage intentional learning, and provide opportunities for meaningful community participation.
Pratt’s Attendance Policy respects and acknowledges students’ need to observe days of cultural significance, including religious and spiritual holy days. Students who anticipate missing class for an observance are encouraged to connect with their faculty early or contact the Student Support and Advocacy Office for assistance navigating accommodations.

Religious & Spiritual Observance
These calendars highlight significant religious and spiritual holy days, festivals, periods of observance, and commemorations.
Date guidance: Dates may vary among traditions, denominations, regions, temples, and local communities. Islamic dates may shift by a day depending on moon sighting or the calculation method used. Jewish and Bahá’í observances begin at sundown on the preceding evening. Other observances may also begin at sundown or include services on the preceding evening.
