Yiwen Ji, Between Departures and Arrivals, 2026

Between Departures and Arrivals is inspired by the emotional landscape of airports. As an international student, I have experienced many moments of departure and reunion, and these feelings inform the atmosphere of the collection. The silhouettes reference airport architecture, translating structural beams, boarding gates, and runway lines into clean cuts and balanced proportions. The garments prioritize functionality, stability, and comfort for people constantly moving between cities. Materials combine recycled polyester, waterproof nylon, and organic cotton to reflect both technology and nature. Rather than following trends, the collection focuses on durability and emotional longevity, creating clothing that supports mobility while expressing the quiet search for belonging during constant movement.
