Q=σA, Wren Walker, 2026
Q=σA is the expression for energy production through density and surface; it is the mathematical basis of my body of work. Drawing inspiration from technology that creates electric energy from friction, my BFA has been an exploration of motion through silhouette and textile. Visual inspiration comes from the sculptural forms of mathematical expressions and theories. Each look approaches motion uniquely, some restricting it, others amplifying it. This work anticipates a future in which friction-based, energy-generating textiles operate in synergy with clothing structure.
