Kyra Haiqin Guan, In Time, 2026

Balanced form has always felt instinctive to me, yet my experience of time often feels unstable—something chased rather than lived. This project explores how waiting intensifies our awareness of time through tension, repetition, and small bodily gestures such as folding, leaning, or fidgeting. Drawing from surveys and personal observation, I translated these movements into a design language using foldable fabrics and paper-based experimentation. Influenced by Constructivist art and architecture, I transform flat planes into sculptural garment structures. Each piece functions as a temporary installation on the body, expressing the tension between balance and disruption, stillness and pressure, and the embodied experience of waiting.
