Aiden Perez, Between Two Worlds, 2026

This collection emerges from a summer split between New York fashion and U.S. Army training, exposing contrasts that reshaped my perspective. As a Mexican Korean American from a working-class background, I draw on my in-between identity to explore class, belonging, and discipline. Using heavy outerwear, military textiles, and repurposed materials, I create tension between structure and movement that reflects my lived experience. Influenced by military uniforms, Korean War gear, and Zoot Suit silhouettes, the work blends history with personal narrative. Ultimately, it presents an underdog narrative that challenges convention, embraces all identities, and approaches fashion with intention, responsibility, and authenticity.
