Production Facilities Technician
Biography
Tate Rench is a Production Facilities Technician in the School of Architecture. Tate received his Bachelors of Science in Physics from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls where his focus was in the real-world application of physics.
In the past, his interest in the outdoors led him to volunteering with the USFS and guiding backcountry canoe trips in international wilderness and provincial parks for several years. There, he developed an interest in woodworking, and field mycology. Tate continued his education in mycology with state mycological societies, and eventually working on a mushroom farm in Brooklyn. Tate is working with the production facilities to develop sustainable Mycelium-based materials for use in the SoA.
