Tate Rench is a Production Facilities Technician at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture. Tate received his Bachelors of Science in Physics from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls where his focus was in the application of physics such as metrology.

In the past, his interest in the outdoors led him to volunteering with the USFS and guiding backcountry canoe trips in international wilderness and provincial parks for several years. There, he developed an interest in field mycology and home-mushroom-cultivation. Tate continued his education in mycology with several state mycological societies, and eventually working on a mushroom farm in Brooklyn. Tate plans on working with the SoA to develop sustainable Mycelium-based materials for use in the production facilities.
