Shradha Kochhar (b. Delhi) is an artist and educator based in Brooklyn working across fashion, art, and craft. Her research investigates indigenous cotton ecologies across India and the United States, with a particular focus on regenerative fiber systems and textile knowledge. This inquiry manifests as large scale sculptures and hand knitted works she describes as knitted essays, forming an evolving visual archive that connects material histories, labor, and cultural memory.

Kochhar holds an MFA in Textiles from Parsons School of Design and was an Artist Fellow at the Museum of Arts and Design, New York. She is currently a Visiting Associate Professor at Pratt Institute in the MFA Fashion Collection and Communication program. She is a finalist for the Dorothy Waxman Textile Excellence Prize and the Van Lier Fellowship, and a recipient of the John L. Tishman Environment and Design Award for Excellence. Her work has been exhibited at the New York Historical, Melbourne Museum, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Mana Contemporary, and the New York Public Library. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Vogue, Crafts Magazine, Selvedge Magazine, and Harper’s Bazaar, among others.
