Visiting Assistant Professor
Rik Vanmechelen is born and raised in Belgium. He holds a BS and MS in Applied Sciences and Engineering: Computer Science from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He moved to the USA for MoMA. His first four years he spent as a software engineer for the Digital Media department, developing moma.org. During his time with Digital Media they launched the new online collection, exhibition history project, a new audio guide, and digital signage in the museum to name a few projects. These days he manages the Enterprise applications team. They oversee most MoMA data and try to optimize the flow of data between systems. That can be the commercial systems (MoMA store and Salesforce CRM) or the syncing Collection data with our DAM software.
