Biography
Rebecca Erde’s design and art practice are grounded in interdisciplinarity, making, and experimentation. She completed her thesis, Designing Resiliency: Products for Mental Health in 2019. She has worked in healthcare design, furniture design, and fast fabrication at scenic studios. Erde’s diverse background in architecture, woodworking, metalworking, and digital fabrication allows her to approach design and glass making through an unconventional lens. She currently is Technical Director of Technology, Studio, and Production Facilities at Pratt Institute while occasionally teaching freelance at UrbanGlass and for Dykes With Drills.
Education
Bachelors of Science in Architecture, Washington University in St. Louis. Masters of Industrial Design and Certificate of Collegiate Teaching in Art and Design, Rhode Island School of Design.
